Summer is upon us!

For once we are enjoying a long hot summer, one of those ones that we dream of, sunkist hair and sandy beaches, of reading books and enjoying summer cocktails… and then there is reality!

Don’t get me wrong, I love my boys more than life itself and I do love the sunshine but the reality is its too hot to move! I have sweat in places that quite frankly is awful, keeping the house resembling organised is a mega mission, the children are like termites that will eat everything and anything that I have in the cupboard and any communication between the three of them ends in either verbal or physical fights! As for Sunkist hair, more like dry split ends and the closest im currently getting to a cocktail is a glass of water as its even too hot to drink my beloved tea!

I am grateful for the weather and I will be one of the first to moan as soon as it gets cold or wet, but for now please cool off by just a few degrees.

So, my mission – how to keep the kids entertained whilst not in front of computers and not killing each other… wish my luck!!

A Family Like us!

So who are we and what are we all about?

Put quite simply we are a family of five, mum, dad and three boys, living what often feels like a crazy busy life finding our way parenting in this busy world that we all live in.

Back in 2016 we really starting noticing that there aren't many families with older children or all boys in the world of social media. Social media has become such an integral part of all of our lives, offering support during our dark days, ideas and an amazing sense of community and communication., and some times just a jolly good nose and giggle!

Fast forward to the summer of 2018 and finally I have decided to forget all the fears and doubts and to just go for it!

Our eldest child is rapidly approaching the teenage years and all of the changes and challenges that brings, add into the mix our middle child who is just about to enter the dreaded year 6 and our youngest, who will always be my baby, even though he will argue differently, is heading into his last year of primary ( year 2.)

I, like may of you I'm sure, am a mum, who still feels new to all of this! Parenting is hard, scrap that, life is hard - but boy oh boy can it be rewarding. Some days I feel like I'm a,  "mum boss," who has control of it all, others even getting out of bed feels like a challenge. We struggle with time, hubby and I run a decorating business and juggle diaries, children, food (did I mention we are trying to get healthy?)  and a dog.

All my life I have loved to communicate, and those of you who know me will know I'm pretty good at chatting, what many won't know is I have always wanted to write, but had years and years of being told I couldn't as my spelling and grammar were awful, well to all those people - tough toots!  I'm going to give it a go!

I would love you to join us on this journey, we are sure many of you are families just like us.
